did you take a picture of the back of the gateway..
The NID is a normal hookup So I can only assume that the Gateway is doing the job of the spliter

I can't because there was just enough cable to plug it in. In fact I can only move it side to side about an inch and nothing more.

Ok.. gonna go reboot now ;)

I doubt that was a full reboot.
Holding the button in didn't make it shutdown until I released the button and then it was a simple off and back on reboot
We'll find out is the IP change as soon as a hit the re[;y button.

Got something o show yah is a few minutes ;)

well, It's been 14 days since I shut Comcast down, And they've been real quiet since then.
The comcast mail account keeps running through so I don't know what that means.
I did log on to my accout and nothing was accessable except the e-mails.
I spoke to my neigbor who switched like we did onlt a few weeks earlier, He said Comcast tried to charge them almost a full month charge for the final bill and His wife got bull headed and talked them down.
As always.. people seems to think they can't argue about bills.  ::)
My DW is ready and waiting because she is good at this.  ;D

I did find out a catch deal when it comes to shut off date.
One is the day you actually have them shut the account down, I will tell you they can't/won't shut the account down as long a the Port order is open, They have to have a different department close the Port order.
Then they have the second shut off date, that's when they come and disconnect the cable from the junction box next to the road. that's probally where they try to justify the balance owed.

As always, get the order number and write down dates ad anything you can, because Knowlage is power ;)

Funny how timing can take place. Yesterday as I was coming out of the house I seen this pick up just pulling away from the curb in front of my driveway, It looked like one of them Contract truck you see Comast uses.
So I thought no more about it untl last nigh when I was running my e-mail. The Comcast account kept asking for a password.
So.. the end of Comcast?
we'll see ;)

HO HO!!!!!
Today was a dandy, Got the Comcast bill and now they want to charge me last month AND this month. Oh they were so nice.. they're giving and additional $10 discount  ::)
Nothing was said about the discontinuation of service.

Guess I'll have to cal them monday because "Obviously the blling department hasn't got the word that my account is no longer active.

Sounds like fun!
Yah, I was trying a few things to get the facebook login cookie to keep and the only way was to enable full cookie and cache file.. I decided the heck with that and just login when i go there.
